I am on a journey to be an African foodie, but that doesn’t mean I know everything about African food, let alone food from my native country Botswana. Sometimes I call up my mom for her to share some recopies with me, but when I really want to get inspiration I surf the web to see what I can learn. Here are a few websites that I use to find great recipes.

Royco
Royco is a leading food and beverage company world wide. Its South African website is filled with hundreds of recipes that are sure to leave your mouth watering. I specifically visit the South African website because many of the dishes are similar to those from Botswana. When on the website I click on the Let’s Cook With Siphokazi page. Siphokazi is a renowned South African traditional chef, whose recipes are authentically African.
BBC Food
As someone who is always looking to add an international flare to my recipes, BBC Food’s website provides great suggestions in their African food section. What is great is that these recipes are created by everyday people like me and you, who are natives of countries where the dishes are from.
Robertson’s
Robertson’s is a popular spice company in Southern African that makes some of the most amazing spice blends ever! Their website is full of great recipes representing all the various cultures and ethnicities within the African continent.
Tasty
This is my go to online food magazine for all things South African. Taste is supermarket giant, Woolworths Food’s website for all recipes, whose ingredients can all be found in local Woolworths supermarkets—but don’t worry you can find most, if not all the ingredients in grocery stores here in the US. What’s great is that most of the recipes are take less than an hour to make!
I hope you will take some time to look through these websites for some great foodie inspiration.
